REQUEST FOR WRITTEN PUBLIC COMMENTS

Cassia County Comprehensive Plan Revision – All Components

The Cassia County Planning and Zoning Commission has initiated an update to the existing Comprehensive Plan and Future Land Use Map.

The proposed revision includes a complete update and rewrite of the plan, which was last adopted in 2012.

A comprehensive plan is a guide to a community’s future, including desirable future growth patterns, that is prepared with the involvement of

residents, businesses, non-profits, and public agencies, and reflects their issues and concerns.

The principal purpose of comprehensive planning is to assist the public and decision-makers with setting goals and objectives for the future

that can be met through a series of strategies or actions. Idaho Cities and Counties must prepare and maintain a current comprehensive plan, including

a Future Land Use Map, in accordance with Idaho Code Section 67-6508. The plan must consider “previous and existing conditions, trends, desirable

goals and objectives,  or desirable future situations.”

The public is invited to give written public comment regarding the Comprehensive Plan.  Written comments will be accepted at the office of the

Cassia County Planning & Zoning Department, second (2nd) floor of the Cassia County Courthouse located at 1459 Overland Ave., Rm. 210, Burley, Idaho

and will be placed into the record and reviewed by the Planning and Zoning Commission.
